Hello there! I’m Rhi. Your friendly portrait artist and live wedding painter! I’ve lived and worked in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia nearly all my life. Ever since I was young, I've been obsessed with fairytales and the magic of mythical art. I began expressing my passion through drawing fifteen years ago, and seven years ago, I began painting with acrylics. Two years ago I took the leap into working as a full time artist, whether teaching painting classes or taking on commission for pet portraits, mural paintings, or furthering my own studies, always painting!

In early 2024, I was fortunate enough to be selected as one of five artists for the prestigious coterie program at the Victorian Artists Society, generously sponsored by the Hansen Little Foundation.

The question I get asked the most is “is it scary to paint live?” Which is so understandable if you’ve done any creative practice! It’s so often a very personal and intuitive experience, and with the added pressure of so many eyes watching your every brushstroke, “what if you make a bad painting?” I wont lie…it has definitely been scary at times! But after years of it- I’ve learned to trust myself and my experience and know that I can make it come together. Live painting comes so naturally to me now, after countless plein air paintings around Melbourne, or live demonstrating as a teacher, or painting live online, I’ve come to love nothing more!

If I’m not painting you can find me volunteering at Melbournes art societies or drawing groups, floating around community theatre productions, LARP events or conventions.
