But it’s time for more, so settle in with your coffee and wedding planner album (who doesn’t love those?) and get ready to have those questions about live wedding painting answered.

How far in advance should I book?

If your heart is set on having a wedding painter attend your wedding, your best bet is booking as soon as possible! An artist may announce on their website that certain time frames are open or closed or if there is a waitlist. They may have your day 2 years from now booked by another wedding already, but who knows? If your decide that your wedding this weekend is DESPERATELY needing an extra touch- you just might find a painter with availability. It’s worth sending an inquiry if your wedding is years from now or days from now. But act fast to lock it in!

Can I customize my painting?

Yes! That’s the whole point! This is YOUR wedding painting and your custom artwork will be gracing the walls of your home forever. Every wedding painting is unique in its own way to reflect the couple and their love story. It’s all part of the artistic process for every couple. You may decide that a specific size or color palette will fit your home decor best. You can request a particular moment of your day to be captured like the aisle exit, or first kiss. Your pets and, other family members could also be included if you so choose.

I like to recommend to couples to book a free 15 minute call to discuss their vision with me before booking. I love hearing all their ideas and visions and Pinterest boards. The more I learn about you, the better!

If I want something about my painting changed?

Every artist aims to have you feeling beautiful in your wedding painting, and of course you should feel comfortable enough to offer feedback and retouch suggestions to ensure that. A design consultation before the wedding is necessary to have all parties understand the vision of your painting and plan accordingly. Note that substantial changes or larger requests for additional painting hours may incur a fee for the artists time and materials.

How far can you travel for a wedding?

Many artists focus on servicing the weddings in their own state and include a certain distance within their packages. This way they can preserve that work life balance and devote as much time and energy to each couple as possible. For me, travel within 50km of my studio is included in your package. Additional distances may incur a small travel fee. Distances that exceed 2 hours of driving time may need to cover accommodation cost. Like any work, painting can be pretty labor intensive work, as well as packing up their station. By the end of a wedding I find myself rather mentally fatigued and aim to limit the driving time on long country roads late at night after many hours of painting and interacting with guests. All to ensure your painting makes it to the studio safely.

I've already had my wedding, can I still get a painting?

Absolutely! That's what The Glass Slipper Package is for. I can create your painting from photos of your wedding. Either a favorite picture or a bit of a combination of several photos. For example if you love the smile on your face in one photo but prefer your partners smile in another, wishing that they happened in the same photo, that can be possible with a painting! I also offer the in-studio package for couples who hope for a wedding painting but don’t have their date available on the artists books.

Do I need to get my painting framed?

While a wedding painting looks fantastic framed- it is not a necessity. Many artists use their own preference of canvases, however the premium stretch canvases I paint on do not require framing to be displayed. A stretch canvas can fit nicely onto a standard hook or have a string attached to the back to simplify hanging. However if you would like your wedding painting framed, I do offer that as an add on option, where a floating frame is custom built onto your canvas by a trusted local framer.
